What can a new international employee expect from us?

Support:

As soon as you arrive at the airport in the Netherlands, we will ensure that one of our employees picks you up and takes you to your accommodation, where bedding will be provided for you. We are able to support you when requesting a bank account number, to which we will pay your salary every four weeks. At CM projects, we believe it’s important that you are able to take your time preparing for your first day of work. Our arrangement is as follows:

Arrival on a Monday or a Tuesday:

  • On the Wednesday, we will go with you to the town hall to obtain a BSN number;
  • Contracts will be signed at the CM projects office;
  • Meet the customer;
  • You can start work on the Thursday or Friday.

Arrival on a Wednesday or later:

  • On the Friday, we will go with you to the town hall to obtain a BSN number;
  • Contracts will be signed at the CM projects office;
  • Meet the customer;
  • You can start work on the Monday.

Contracts:

Upon arrival at the CM projects office, you must sign the temporary employment contract and the rental contract for your accommodation. Our contract is a zero hours contract. This is an employment contract in which it is yet to be determined how many hours you will be working. This means that it will be possible to employ you in a flexible manner and you can be paid according to the hours you actually work.

Accommodation:

You have the opportunity to make use of our accommodation. We will ensure that you are able to live as close to your work as possible. You will be provided with good-quality accommodation with your own bedroom. The apartment is furnished and has wireless internet, so you will be able to keep in touch with your family at all times. We will also make sure that you are provided with a pillow and bedding. Weekly cleaning and maintenance services will also be provided by our colleagues.

The costs of the accommodation are on average €200– €250 per four weeks. This includes gas, water, lighting and wireless internet.

What will I earn?

When you sign a zero hours contract, we won’t be able to say exactly how much you will earn, but to give you an indication of approximately how much you will earn: an average of €10–€13 gross per hour. You will be paid in accordance with the customer’s collective labour agreement. The minimum wage for the Netherlands can be found in the overview below.

Clothing:

  • Safety shoes (if you haven’t brought these with you, at a cost of €25)

If you do not have a driving licence, we will ensure that transport is provided for you to your place of work at all times. CM projects will also provide a bicycle for shorter distances.

If you have your own car, we will reimburse you for the kilometres actually travelled between your accommodation and work. A gross payment of €0.19 per kilometre travelled will be given.

We are able to support you with:

  • Applying for an account number so that you can receive your salary in euros;
